Hi Servin,
First congrats on a 22 week stretch As far as a protein treatment, Some ladies do theirs as soon as the next day, some do one 3/4 days after a touch-up, others do one within a week... I always do a protein/reconstructor treatment within a week after my touch-up... So, I don't know really know for sure... but most ladies want to strengthen their hair as soon as possible after a relaxer... I have not been much help Keep us posted, and let us know what you decided Congrats again.... HTH |

Congrats to Lyenes on her stretch... I can't wait
to see how your touch-up turns out... I bet it will be
nice...
I will be getting my touch-up Wednesday, I am very anxious... My hair is needing a touch-up very bad... I could only stretch for 7 weeks this time Anyway, I will be relieved to have my hair strait and grease free... And I want to try Carmel's pin curling at night... That is where I am stand with this 7 week stretch... |

Well I will be 9 wks post Friday. I plan to relax
either on the 30th or 31st. I have alot of newgrowth
going on. I don't stretch very far due to breakage
usually 8-12 max. I think I plan to relax with Design
Essentials this time instead of Mizani Lye.

Allright! I know I wasn't officially part of this Challenge... but I went NINE weeks! I was very proud of my acheivement :-) I did have some shedding and a
bit of breakage at the end there. However I kept up the moisturizing treatments and it all worked out. Thanks ladies!

Wow, nine weeks, that is great, glad it went pretty goo for you also... I will try for nine/eight in July... I was going through a rough period over the winter
and did not want to stress my hair...
I am hoping I am done with the dryness/shedding/breakage... I had a very bad winter.. and set back... I am 5 weeks post now and will maybe go 7 weeks if my hair acts right... |

I am at the end of a 8 week stretch... I may regret this... But so far it is not too bad... I want to master keeping my hair soft and moisturized during this
time... I am CWing and bunning most of the time... I think I am headed for a rough week... I get a touch-up next week...

Can someone please tell me how they stretch there new growth without breakage. After 8 weeks my head starts to hurt and I can't even comb through my head..
It gets soo painful. I have heard of coconut milk and lime but I havent tried it yet. Does anyone else have suggestions. My hair is super super thick too by
the way so please let me know if there is any hope for me to stretch out my perm.

Hi Freda,
First welcome to our hair board forum... Stretching can be very tricky and for others it is a piece of cake... When I stretch, I CW every couple of days to keep the hair soft and moist... I use Scurl, braid spray moisturizer and oil moisturizer then I seal with an oil... and I baggy a lot... The keep is to keep the hair moisturized and not to comb it... What is your hair type... and what type of perm do you have? |
