I was so angry yesterday after my re-touch and now I'm frustrated
. I usually have a ride to my appt, but my ride forgot. I ended up walking to the salon and I was 25 minutes late. I called my stylist before I left
to go walking and she said it was okay that I come in. No one was in the salon except my stylist and I apologized for my lateness and told her I walked there.
When I sit in her chair, I tell her that I sweated a little on the way over, (I touched my forehead to see if I have any sweat, none). She says okay and
proceeds to put the petroleum base on my scalp and hairline, protectant on my hair, and the relaxer. When she got around to my front, it felt irritated. I told
her how it tingles a little; she said okay, and proceeds to smooth my roots. It still felt bad, but then it was time to rinse it out. I told her that my front
still felt irritated, so she put a heavy cream conditioner and cap on me and I sat under the dryer. Then rinse and neutralize shampoo - twice, rinse, and
style.
My scalp felt fine and looked fine when I left the salon. I go home and look in the mirror and my hairline was burgundy (as if I had a color rinse or
something)
. So I look up chemical burns on the Internet and the
information said to rinse area for 15 minutes with cool water. I just got my hair done, I thought I had to wash my hair again, but I didn't have any
neutralizing shampoo at home! So I gently pat my hairline with a clean, damp cloth with cool water and it started turning white
. I called the salon back to see if I could come back in because I think I
have a chemical burn. My stylist knew exactly were and told me to come in.
I go in and she says that all I have to do is keep some salve on it like A& D ointment because it is going to get dry. She apologized and said this has never happened to her before (I guess a client coming back because of a burn), I said it happens and left. I thought it was going to get better, but it felt so irritated my hairline just got worse. By bedtime, my hairline was full of pus and I didn't know how I was going to wrap my hair up. I was able to wrap it, but left my hairline exposed. This morning it was full of dry pus and I have burns behind my ears! What in the world happened!? I haven't had a chemical burn in so long (especially since I've been going to a licensed stylist in a salon) and never this severe. I think she used a different relaxer on me because I've never had this problem with Affirm and I've been using Affirm for 4 years. I know how it performs on my hair
I think I'm going to see the salon owner today because this shouldn't have happened especially from a regular retouch.

Ooh Sunshine... I feel your pain. I think we've all been burned by relaxers in the past. Yours sound like a severe case. I'm sure your
stylist feels horrible. If she doesn't she should. Honestly, she should offer you some free services for the future or something. The only advice I can
offer is to document everything with pictures because it sounds like you received serious burns. As the scalp heals and the scabs harden, then fall off,
it's possible some of your hair may fall out as well.

pharmacist would support that suggestion, so I called another one and he suggested an anti-bacterial spray or liquid. Okay, the search was on to find some
useful information supported by at least two pharmacists. I called the third pharmacist and he suggestion using a steroid cream
